5 ARRESTED IN DRUG SWEEP

Task Force 6 Warrant Sweep
DeWitt County, IL – On May 14, 2014, law enforcement officers from the Clinton Police Department, DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service Task Force, the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team, and Task Force 6 conducted a warrant sweep. The purpose of the detail was to arrest multiple persons wanted on warrants for drug related offenses. These charges stemmed from several months of investigation into illegal drug sales in the DeWitt County area.
A total of 5 subjects were arrested during the detail. Four of the defendants were transported to the DeWitt County jail for processing. One of the defendants was transported to the Piatt County Jail for processing.
Raymond Skeels, age 52, of Weldon (booking photo pictured), was arrested on a warrant for Participation in Methamphetamine Manufacturing/Over 100g, Class X felony. Possession of Methamphetamine, Class X felony, Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor, Class 2 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material, Class 2 felony. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Samuel Baker, age 36, of Bement, was arrested on a warrant for Participation in Methamphetamine Manufacturing/over 100g, Class X felony, Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor, Class 2 felony. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
Brandy Winstead, age 40, of Farmer City, was arrested on a warrant for Delivery of a Controlled Substance/Over 50g, Class 1 felony, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Class 2 felony. She is being held on a $20,000 bond.
Lorie Bateson, age 25, of Lincoln, was arrested on a warrant for Delivery of Cannabis/over 30g, Class 3 felony. She is being held on a $15,000 bond.
Michael O’Connor, age 64, of Clinton, was arrested on a warrant for Possession of Cannabis Sativa Plant, class A Misdemeanor. He posted a bond and was released from the DeWitt County Jail.
Task Force 6 is a multi-agency enforcement unit specializing in narcotics enforcement. Task Force 6 is composed of officers from the Clinton Police Department, DeWitt County Sheriff’s Department, McLean County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State University Police Department, and the Illinois State Police.
